I've just been trying (again) to get registered on this new wes
garrison site and I don't know why it won't seem to cooperate. I try
to fill out the info needed but I'm not getting any kind of e-mail
confirmation-- it seems to be saying I need that to register, but I
can't get it until after I've already registered! And I can't find
the clues to the boxes I've already planted anywhere-- I thought I
understood that both old and new sites would be maintained at least
for awhile. I just read The Paisley Orca's post to the list saying
she would probably just continue posting her clues there--- I was
wondering if I could post clues there and at least group members
would have access to them. If anyone can help me, it would be most
appreciated! I am pretty down right now, wondering if I will just
have to give up letterboxing completely. Which is something I DONT
want to do. It truly has become something of an addiction, but a
healthy one which I really enjoy. I've got seven boxes ready to plant
right now but if I can't post clues, then why bother? Well, thanks
for listening, and please help if you have been able to figure this
new thing out. (Also, a more specific question-- when the new
registration process asks for a password, is it talking about the
password used for my email, or a new one to be used for signing in on
the site?).Thanks again, a frustrated Salamander.

I've been pulling my hair out with this too- but having different issues.
I recieved the confirmation, but when I copy and paste the web link (all of
it, including the http and trailing numbers) I get the message
"I'm very sorry, but your membership account does not exist.
My site automatically deletes members that have not confirmed their
membership within 10 days, and it shows no mercy - computers are like that!
If you still wish to have free lifetime membership, you'll have to register
again.
I hope you do!"
So, when I try and re-register, it tells me this address is already being
used by a member (ME!)- but I can't sign in because I am unable to confirm
my membership via email
- it's a viscious cycle, really.
Help.

Send Wes Garrison an e-mail and let him know you're having problems... wes@wesgarrison.us
He's probably buried right now, but I'm sure he'll do whatever he can to get you going.

I'm all set now- while I was getting it figured out, Wes did email me.
I was able to successfully get our boxes posted to the new site and that
made me a happy camper!
It's nice to have such good response from the group- and I still have some
hair left too!
Thanks

Upgrade.
Netscape less than 5.0 has HTML compatibility issues which cause the links to
fail.

Please don't run off until you've given the new database a fair
shake. Submitting clues under the old system was close to
overwhelming those few who actually did the work. The sheer
volume has already caused us to lose dedicated letterboxers
who were involved from the beginning.
Once you get over the learning curve of joining, adding your own
boxes and searching for clues is pretty painless.
